One should not raise teenagers. I say this because its just not that, that they need or want. Teenagers don't need to be raised! They need intensely, immensely and necessarily to feel responsible, capable and take their own decisions!!
If you ask me raising should stop the day they strike the footsteps of teen age (thirteenth birthday)!!
As a parent one must align our patterns of concern and behaviour to the needs of our children …one that increases the binding, that facilitates more learning and collaborative decision-making!!
If one tries to force our decisions, it wouldn't work to control situations! And being laid back just wouldn't work to control your heart rate!! The best strategy for parents is to play and display mannerisms and behaviour so that teenagers make you a part of their conspiracies and decision making!
It's an art that takes patience! It's also science and takes strategizing, calculations and planning! Most of all it takes courage to accept the changing thought patterns of the new generation!
More than the children it's the parents who thank surviving it!!
