HOME ZONE 3: EFFECTIVELY SUPERVISING BOREDOM

Introducing boredom as a tool of self expansion is revolutionary. Here effective supervision has its own unique role. It's particularly important to be alone, be silent, learn to observe things around, view them in all possible perspectives.....and most importantly watch your own self. Keeping a check on our thought process is a great skill.
If it is that being alone without books, TV or any gadget and without planning and thinking and worrying is even new to you....and you fear that you won't be able to lead kids into this....then there's a good news for you.
"Not in making them follow but in making them lead lies the secret of an effective supervision."
What you need to check on is that when you let a human enter silence.....new doors open up and now nothing can be scheduled or decided or limited. In this vastness the mind of this young sprout can go anywhere, to whatever extent and can generate enormous curiosity to learn and know. In this urge, they might want to experiment, experience or create something that might mandate some basic knowledge. So, you need to stay emotionally connected and permissible, ready with time and attention to answer if you know. If you don't know, partner her/him in finding the answers. Please do that with an open, scientific and logical mind that's not preoccupied with lame cultural statements. "That's what happens."
"World runs like this."
... and rotten stuff of that sort. Every WHY should either be answered or it's answer be sought after.
Let the gap between thought and action grow larger. Thought leads to impulsive curiosity and urges immediate action or experimentation.
This is where you can introduce step by step process.....thought, knowledge, analysis, curiosity, finding, judging the pros and cons, planning and then carefully executing it in steps and reflecting at every step!!!
Lead them into thought, contemplation and profound reflection. If this process of contemplation is instilled in the reflexes of the child, she/he is bound to shine....In any field.

Teaching the art of Reflection shall be considered in my next post, HOME ZONE 4
